A Threaded Sun
Yarn bombing artist HOT TEA (Eric Rieger) created this amazing installation at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts entitled Letting Go. The piece incorporates 84 miles of colored string that forms the artist’s interpretation of the sun and the warmth and love one receives from those they’ve had to let go of. The installation spans two floors and is meticulously made from 14,000 individual strands of yarn. A circle of artificial grass lays underneath the installation to view the beautiful effect of the strings glistening in the sunlight.
