“I wore this outfit for a normal, busy jeans and t-shirt day last week (I added the heels later.) My initial reaction upon seeing these jeans was whoa! I have other bright colored pants, but hadn’t dipped into the pattern pant trend. Thankfully, the vertical stripes of this pair are incredibly flattering, and adding coordinating pieces and accessories is a no brainer. They obviously stand out more, and feel more dressed up, than traditional blue jeans, but are just as easy and comfortable. Walking around the city they made me stand a little taller, and I caught more than a handful of people staring at my legs rather than my face.”

The best thing about white pants is that everything pops with white, colors look more vibrant and darks look more saturated.  What makes white so fun is the accessorizing one can do with white pants, bold shoes can easily become the focal point of your outfit, belts and jewelry stand out more, nail polish becomes more eye catching, and that bag you love that may be hard to style with lots of outfits, not so with white, most everything goes with white.  So this summer have fun, white !iT out and show some love to the usually-more-subtle features of your outfits.

LP first caught our ear on the Citibank commercial scored to her single “Into the Wild”, but it didn’t stop there, after searching for more and eventually only finding  videos of her live performances we found ourselves scrounging to get more from this L.A based singer-songwriter-artist.  The long awaited album “Into The Wild (Live At EastWest Studios)” is out now and doesn’t disappoint!

Her vocals are stunning and capture her passion and emotion when they come billowing out.  She has a unique stage presence that reminds us of a mix between Bob Dylan and Andrew Stockdale (from Wolfmother).  If you ever have an opportunity to see her live, we highly recommend it, she captivates the crowd with her energy, you would think its her first time on stage with how excited she appears to be while playing and by the looks of the permanent grin she sports while interacting with the crowd.  Not one to miss!

With Spring in full stride, our craving for cool tasty snacks has returned and what better way to satisfy than with a smoothie?  From our friends over at Anthology and Island Menu, we have a delicious recipe that you can whip up with ease.

Blackberry, Blueberry, and Raspberry Breakfast Smoothie

Smoothies are great for breakfast, with breakfast, with lunch or mid-day snack or desert…oh who are we kidding?  Smoothies a great anytime!  With this recipe you will have a delicious meal or snack in no time.

Ingredients

1 cup milk or soymilk

2-1 heaped tbsp natural Greek yogurt

2 tsp honey (more or less to taste)

1 cup frozen berries (blackberries, rasberries, blueberries, or your choice)

Sprig of mint

Put all the ingredients in a blender and process until combined, garnish with mint, then enjoy your delicious and refreshing snack!

Sometimes it takes music to make a Friday feel like a Friday.  Here is a new track to satisfy your music craving.

Pixie Geldof is a london native who has already flourished in several careers and can now include “musician” to her already impressive resume with her new band, Violet.  Pixie describes the band as a “dreamy grunge act with big melodic vocals”.  Their first single “Y.O.U” is available now on sound cloud.  Give it a listen and let us know what you think.

We have followed Garance Doré for some time now, loving her blog and fashion sense.  That’s why we have been so excited about her recent collaboration with Net-a-Porter to film her fashion week adventures in New York and Paris.  The French photographer/blogger/fashionista is doing something not yet common in the blogosphere, she is pushing the boundaries to incorporate a mini series that lets people join her in her life in fashion.

As part of the new Swatch Art & Fashion Collection, iconic Swiss watch maker Swatch has collaborated with the acclaimed Japanese artist, Hideaki Kawashima, whose highly stylized images of women are both enigmatic and tender.

Hideaki Kawashima has proposed two distinctive designs for the Swatch Art & Fashion Collection.  Each of these depicts a female face – with large, mysterious eyes and the most delicate of mouths – in keeping with the otherworldly yet inviting style of painting for which the artist is famed.

For PROJECT LV this February we designed an installation to convey the creative spirit behind the show. We spent the better part of a day working with cones of thread and ultimately placing over 900 of these cones on our side wall. Then, by stringing individual threads through a maze of nails, we were able to create an experience that captured the passion behind the installation, which at it’s heart was to inspire people to “Create.” This is a time lapse video documenting our “Create” installation, hope you enjoy!
